GoShare enters Jakarta, Indonesia; Kwang Yang spends $2.8 billion on Harley electric bikes



When it comes to electric bikes, Taiwan is really good at it! Firstly, KYMCO has invested US$100 million in LiveWire. It is the e-bike subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, Inc (NYSE: HOG), according to public transaction information. GoShare announced its launch in Jakarta, Indonesia. It is a shared electric motorbike service with over 1.3 million users in Taiwan along with Motor Harley Davidson Terbaru 2023.

LiveWire, the e-bike subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE: HOG), is expected to be listed on the NYSE through a merger with publicly traded special purpose acquisition company AEA-Bridges Impact Corp. The proceeds from the pre-IPO offering will fully fund Harley-Davidson’s strategic plan to enter the electric vehicle market and accelerate its market expansion, product development, global manufacturing and sales capabilities.

At the same time, KYMCO, a Taiwan-based group, announced its investment in LiveWire for a total amount of US$100 million (approximately NT$2.8 billion). It is tentatively estimated to result in a 4% stake in LiveWire upon completion of the merger. According to Kuan Yang Group, through its strategic alliance with KYMCO, LiveWire can benefit from KYMCO’s technological expertise, manufacturing capacity, distribution network, supply chain infrastructure, and global logistics capabilities. That will further enable LiveWire to become an industry leader in pure electric heavy machinery and accelerate the transformation of motorbikes towards electrification.

GoShare, a mobile sharing service with more than 1.3 million users in Taiwan, announced today that it has officially entered Indonesia. It is the largest motorbike market in Southeast Asia, by integrating its GoShare for Business technology platform with Gogoro’s complete solution for smart electric motorbikes. And it is going to become Taiwan’s first international motorbike sharing service platform provider.

GoShare has partnered with Gojek, the mobile services leader of GoTo, Indonesia’s largest technology group, to provide a customized one-stop solution to launch the first pilot of Gogoro and GoTo’s smart e-mobility program in Jakarta.

According to Gogoro, the solution integrates Gogoro’s customised smart e-mobility fleet for Gojek, the Gogoro Network’s smart battery exchange network, the fleet cloud management system and the GoShare for Business App for business partners. And it is expected to be launched in the near future for Gojek’s core business operations such as taxi hailing and delivery.

In addition to the “borrow-and-return” and “spot-check” services to meet the needs of consumers on the move, GoShare has also launched the GoShare for Business Enterprise Solution for business partners in recent years, with initial users including Visa, Microsoft, Delta, Cathay Life, Taishin Bank, Far EasTone, Breeze Group, Nanshan Products, Teach for Taiwan, Reach for Taiwan, and Reach for Taiwan. The GoShare for Taiwan solution was initially used by companies such as Microsoft, Delta, Cathay Life and more technology company like Teach for Taiwan and Rakuten Monkeys. The company is also working with Gojek on a comprehensive GoShare for Business corporate solution to accelerate Gojek’s goal of a fully electrified and zero-carbon fleet by 2030, and is working with Pertamina, Indonesia’s national oil and gas company, to build and manage a GoStation battery exchange in Jakarta.
