Lahore’s Best Restaurants: The Ultimate Food Guide

Published

on

Looking for the best restaurants in Lahore? Well look no further – this guide has everything you need to know about gluttony in Pakistan’s cultural capital. Click here to see the Best Restaurants in Gulberg Lahore.

Imagine the best food city you’ve ever been to. Now imagine that on steroids, and you might get close to how amazing Lahore’s food scene is. The lively Punjabi city is a foodie’s paradise, and there are endless candidates for the best restaurants in Lahore.

Before visiting (and subsequently spending more than a month there), I had heard that Lahore could cook. But what I experienced exceeded even my wildest expectations.

The juiciest meat, the best naan I’ve ever tasted, and dishes literally bursting with spice and flavor made my weeks in Lahore especially memorable. There was always a new place to eat and always a new dish to try.

Considering that food is life, I made it a point to visit the best restaurants in Lahore during my stay in what is now my favorite city in the world.

From karahi to haleem, halwa puri, and oreo cheesecake, here’s the ultimate guide to the best restaurants in Lahore, a city that truly has something for each and every type of foodie.

Lamb Shop M Ashraf

While the name of this restaurant might lead you to believe that it only sells lamb, you can be sure that all kinds of meats are on the menu.

This tikka shop in Gulberg was one of the most delicious places I ate in Lahore, so delicious that we ended up going back at least 5 times so far.

Yes, they may be known for their lamb, but the highlight of M Ashraf was none other than their piece of chicken. For PKR150, you can choose between a piece of brisket or leg to enjoy with raita and naan.

To this day, I have never come across such a tasty chicken. Pakistanis are true barbecue masters and Mr. Ashraf’s business is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Lahore and a bit hidden!

The store can be found in a roundabout at Gulberg 2 and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Expect to pay PKR300-1000 for larger plates.

Asil Phajja Siri Paye

Located near the Badshahi Mosque, Phaja Siri Paye is a small shop that serves some of the best food in Lahore.

Paya (goat’s hoof) is absolutely DELICIOUS here and tastes perfect. I also really enjoyed the lamb brain curry which sounds weirder than it tastes.

The prices here are quite affordable, and while it doesn’t have the view of the nearby street food restaurants, it makes up for it in quality.

Please note that there are several “Phajja Siri Paye” on Google Maps, but the one you want to search for is “Asil Phajja Siri Paye”.

Its location in the walled city makes it a perfect place to visit before or after visiting iconic places like the Lahore Fort or the Minar-e-Pakistan.

A full meal should cost around PKR 200-500 per person.

Riaz Halwa Puri

There are many places that can claim to have the best breakfast in Lahore, but I am convinced that Riaz Halwa Puri really does. The puri here is simply divine and unlike other breakfast places, you can enjoy it all day long!

Riaz Halwa Puri is a small street-side shop in Anarkali Bazaar where they do halwa puri and chole bathure. Like many of the other places on this list, I found myself coming back here again and again.

There is something to be said for each type of puri, and although I am a self-proclaimed dessert addict, I think the chole bathure is my favorite. And if you are looking for something else, you can also find kachori chicken here.

The best thing about this modest place is its incredible prices. For just 25 PKR, you can savor the deliciousness that has been made here for 70 years!

Butt karahi

Perhaps one of the most famous restaurants in Lahore, Butt Karahi is something of an institution. This popular Lahori restaurant has been in business since 1947, and I feel like you just can’t visit the city without trying their karahi.

While it goes without saying that Butt Karahi is famous for its karahi (a kind of chicken/lamb curry made with spices and lots of tomatoes), they also serve a full menu of Pakistani favorites.

Personally, I wouldn’t leave without trying their signature dish, but if karahi isn’t your thing, dal, tandoor, Tawa, masala, makhani, qeema, and more are on Butt’s menu.

Sardar Haji Fish

Lahore is known for its fish in winter, and Haji Sardar is one of the best places to eat it. There are numerous types of fish to choose from, and the taste? Absolutely delicious!

However, like most places in the world, the seafood here doesn’t come cheap. Expect to spend between PKR1,000 and PKR1,600 for a full plate of fish, depending on the variety you choose.

On the plus side though, the portions are large, you’ll definitely be full after eating here!

I really enjoyed the fish tikka and the baam fried fish. For those looking for non-seafood options, several inexpensive meat dishes are also served here, along with essentials like naan and chutneys.

Muhammadi Nahari House

Another of the best restaurants in Lahore is Muhammadi Nahari House, a popular venue that has been serving its signature nahari for years.

If you are not familiar with nahari, let this place be your introduction. Also called nihari, this savory stew is usually made with beef or lamb slow-cooked with a variety of spices and bone marrow.

I tried the nahari beef here and was certainly not disappointed. The tender pieces of meat literally melted in my mouth. Although it is one of the best restaurants in Lahore, don’t expect anything fancy when it comes to decor.

Still, people travel from all over Lahore and beyond to get their famous nahari, which also comes in chicken for those who aren’t too keen on another ghost.

In addition to its iconic namesake, Nahari House also offers diners other options. The menu includes maghaz fry, nali and even nahari paya too!

A full plate of nahari will set you back between 500 and 1,800 PKR, depending on the type of meat you choose and whether you opt to fry it or not.

The Nahari House is also famous for its “special” nahari, which costs PKR 1,800.

While it is certainly not the cheapest restaurant in Lahore, the quality of the dishes they serve make it a perfect place for tourists to enjoy a special meal.

Kozi haleem

I had never heard of haleem before backpacking Pakistan, but ended up enjoying it several times in Lahore no less. The best place to eat haleem in the city is Kozi Haleem, a decades-old establishment famous for its signature hotpot dish.

It’s easy to confuse nahari and haleem if you’re not familiar with the two, but haleem is a bit thicker and mustard yellow in color, while nahari tends to be darker and thinner in consistency.

Kozi Haleem is one of the cheap restaurants in Lahore, and it is also one of the oldest. The flavor was very on point here, especially when I was dipping freshly baked naan chunks into my bowl!

One thing I noticed about the best restaurants in Lahore is that there are A LOT of copycats. If you Google Kozi Haleem, for example, you’ll find numerous locations, but the one you want to visit is called “Kozi Haleem Secretariat” on National Highway

Both beef and chicken haleem are available to eat, and each is only 80 PKR for a bowl…so why not try both?

All dishes come with little trays of toppings that include green chiles, lemons, fried onions, and cilantro (which unfortunately tastes like soap to me… sigh).

Siddique Kebab Shop

I was surprised when I found out that one of the best places to eat in Lahore was in Model Town, but guys, this is not an exaggeration. I’ve been lucky enough to eat here twice so far and have been truly impressed each time.

Juicy pieces of lamb, beef, and chicken along with traditional kebabs are all on the menu along with what I think firmly cements this place on this list: their paratha.

I personally love paratha, and I haven’t found any other place in Pakistan that makes it better than Siddique’s.

Doughy, flaky, and a perfect companion to your main course, I almost had to stretch it out after finishing it.

Additionally, Siddique Kebab Shop is located in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of outdoor seating. The prices are not particularly cheap, but they are not the most expensive either, especially if you share.

For example, beef tikka is PKR 900, chicken boti is PKR 770, and beef seekh kebab is PKR 360, much cheaper.

The special paratha is a bit pricey at 70 PKR per order, but believe me, your palate and stomach will thank you!

Feeqa Lassi Walla

Located near Gawalmandi, Feeqa Lassi Walla is as iconic as Lahore desserts get. This small but famous shop serves the best street food in Lahore, and they have for decades.

Topped with a hefty portion of buttermilk fat and brown sugar, the extra-large lassis are the perfect refreshment from the Lahori heat. This was actually the first place we came to in the city, and it was an ideal introduction for foodies!

This shop has been a Lahore staple for years, and once you take a sip, you’ll know why. While you can get the lassi without the ingredients, I highly recommend against it.

The thick and creamy buttermilk is what sets this lassi apart from the rest, and despite trying dozens of lassis all over Pakistan AND India, none compare to this one!

The store is open from early morning to mid-afternoon, making it an ideal place to nashta. An extra creamy lassi costs around PKR160.

Haveli Restaurant

Perhaps Lahore’s rooftop restaurant, Haveli Restaurant is an iconic (albeit pricey) place to eat with a view of the famous Badshahi Mosque.

Of course, if you come here to eat, you HAVE to sit on the roof. While the food is nothing special and will certainly hurt your wallet, you can always come in for a cup of Kashmiri chai to avoid overpaying for a meal.

This is what we did and it was definitely worth it, even though the chai was still quite expensive at 145 PKR.

However, Haveli is one of the best restaurants in Lahore for special occasions due to its panoramic views. If you plan to have a full meal here, expect to pay between 700 and 2000 PKR, depending on what you order.

 Yousaf Falooda

One of the best restaurants in Lahore for dessert is none other than Yousaf Falooda, a long time staple located in Anarkali.

While there are many falooda shops in the city with the exact same name, the one at Anarkali Bazaar might be the best.

What really sets Yousaf Falooda apart is its delicious kulfi falooda, which combines the two popular desserts in a sweet and creamy bowl that you won’t be able to resist.

For those who don’t know, the sundae-like dessert is filled with translucent noodles and creamy kulfi sticks.

As an ice cream addict, I quickly fell in love with kulfi, and the quality of the frozen custard here was second to none. This dessert hits the spot especially in the summer, but is open for enjoyment year-round.

Roasted Chicken Shah Tawa

Just across the street from the aforementioned Phaja Siri Paye, Shah has the best chicken tawa in Lahore and a delicious roti to go with it.

The spices, the tenderness, the taste – everything was so good that I came back here at least 3 times in the month I spent in Lahore.

The best dry dish here is the traditional chicken tawa, which is expertly marinated chicken that is then cut into small pieces and then grilled in the tawa (also known as a desi pan).

While I definitely recommend trying that version, you can also experience all the epic flavors with chunks of chicken breast or legs. Foreigners beware: chicken tawa is SPICY, and that’s where naan, raita and cold drinks come in.

This top Lahori restaurant is also reasonably priced, especially when compared to nearby Food Street restaurants. Expect to pay between 300 and 700 PKR depending on what and how much you order!

Chatkhara

Chatkhara may not be as well known as some of the other top restaurants in Lahore, but trust me, it should be! The little DHA restaurant specializes in a dish that none of the other famous eating places do: mashed daal.

Before coming to Lahore, I had only tasted daal in India, and it was always the brown variety. However, Daal mash is completely different.

It’s more yellow instead of brown, and much, much tastier. I am not exaggerating when I say that Chatkhara was the best daal I had in all of Pakistan.

Tasty and creamy, it paired excellently with their naan, of which they have literally a dozen options to choose from.

In addition to its signature specialty, Chatkhara has plenty of other food options to choose from, including everything from malai boti to mutton karahi. Also, visit a Chinese Restaurant in Gulberg Lahore.

Expect to pay PKR 240 for the daal, and between PKR 120 and PKR 1,350 for their other dishes.

The Power of Packaging: How Plastic Blister Packaging can boost sales and brand awareness

Published

on

By

Plastic blister packaging has been around for decades and has become a popular choice for packaging a wide range of products. Blister packaging is made by forming a plastic sheet over a mold, which creates a cavity to hold the product securely in place. This type of packaging offers many benefits for both consumers and businesses. In this blog post, we will explore the power of plastic blister packaging and how it can boost sales and brand awareness for businesses.

Benefits of Blister Packaging for Consumer

First, let’s look at some of the benefits of blister packaging for consumers. One of the main advantages is that it allows customers to see the product they are purchasing. This is particularly important for items that are small or have intricate details. By being able to see the product through the packaging, customers can get a better idea of what they are buying, which can help them make a

more informed decision.

Another benefit of blister packaging is that it protects the product from damage during shipping and handling. The plastic sheet provides a barrier between the product and the outside world, which can prevent scratches, dents, and other forms of damage. This is especially important for fragile items like electronics or glassware.

Blister packaging is also easy to open, which is a big plus for consumers. The plastic is usually scored or perforated so that it can be easily torn open without the need for scissors or a knife. This makes the product more accessible and can enhance the user experience.

Benefit Businesses

Now let’s look at how blister packaging can benefit businesses. One of the primary advantages is that it can help increase sales. When customers can see the product they are buying, they are more likely to make a purchase. This is especially true for products that are new or unfamiliar. By showcasing the product in a clear and attractive way, blister packaging can entice customers to buy.

Customized Blister Packaging can also help businesses stand out from the competition. With so many products on the market, it can be challenging to differentiate oneself from the competition. However, by using blister packaging, businesses can create a unique and eye-catching design that will catch the attention of customers. This can help increase brand awareness and attract new customers.

Another benefit of blister packaging is that it can reduce costs. Because the plastic sheet is relatively cheap, it can be an affordable option for businesses looking to package their products. Additionally, because blister packaging is lightweight, it can reduce shipping costs, which can help businesses save money in the long run.

When it comes to designing blister packaging, there are many options available. Businesses can choose from a wide range of colors, shapes, and sizes to create a design that fits their brand and product. Additionally, businesses can add graphics and text to the packaging to further enhance the design and communicate important information to customers.

One important consideration when designing blister packaging is the type of plastic used. There are many different types of plastics, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. For example, some plastics are more rigid and durable, while others are more flexible and lightweight. Choosing the right plastic can help ensure that the packaging is strong enough to protect the product while also being easy to open and handle.

Another consideration is the size and shape of the packaging. Blister packaging can be customized to fit a wide range of products, from small items like batteries or earbuds to larger products like toys or tools. By choosing the right size and shape, businesses can create packaging that fits their product perfectly, which can help enhance the overall customer experience.

Finally, businesses should consider the environmental impact of their packaging. While blister packaging can be an eco-friendly option, it is important to choose plastics that are recyclable and to minimize the amount of excess packaging material used. By making these choices, businesses can help reduce waste and minimize their environmental impact.

In addition to these considerations, businesses should also pay attention to the overall design of their blister packaging. The packaging should be visually appealing and communicate the benefits and features of the product clearly and effectively. Additionally, the packaging should be easy to open and handle, which can enhance the user experience and encourage customers to purchase the product again in the future.

Finally, blister packaging can also help businesses reduce waste. Because the plastic is typically recyclable, it can be a more eco-friendly option than other types of packaging. Additionally, because the plastic sheet is molded to fit the product precisely, it can reduce the need for excess packaging material, which can help reduce waste even further.

Conclusion

In conclusion, plastic blister packaging is a powerful tool that can help businesses increase sales and brand awareness. By providing a clear view of the product, protecting it from damage, and making it easy to open, blister packaging can enhance the customer experience and entice customers to make a purchase. Additionally, by creating a unique and eye-catching design, businesses can stand out from the competition and increase brand awareness. When designing blister packaging, businesses should consider factors such as the type of plastic used, the size and shape of the packaging, and the overall design and messaging. By making the right choices, businesses can create packaging that is both effective and efficient, helping them to succeed in a competitive marketplace.

Entertainment Houston: Best Things to Do for Fun

Published

on

By

entertainment houston

If you’re looking to have some fun, there are plenty of different options of entertainment Houston to choose from. Here are some great things to do in Houston for entertainment and fun. Plus, this post includes great ideas for things to do in other major U.S cities like San Diego and Chicago, too! You won’t want to miss out on these great ideas.

The Museum District

Houston’s Museum District is located in the heart of downtown and features a diverse mix of museums, performance halls, gardens, and other attractions. It’s an outdoor museum that everyone can enjoy! The Hermann Park area includes The Houston Museum of Natural Science, Miller Outdoor Theatre and the NASA Kids’ Space Center. In addition, there are some excellent places to eat and drink nearby. Houston’s Chinatown is the largest in Texas and offers a unique experience with authentic Chinese culture. There are many shops, restaurants, theaters and places of worship that make it one of the most vibrant destinations in town. The Bayou City Art Festival is an annual event where artists showcase their work on a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, photography or any other medium they choose.

Each year, we bring together more than 300 artists from all over the country. The festival has grown over the years as people have come to expect something different every time. -The Museum of Fine Arts (MFAH) houses more than 100,000 pieces spanning 5 millennia in history. You will find paintings by Picasso and van Gogh; sculptures by Rodin and Moore; Asian art by I-Xing; European textiles by Thomas Burberry; ancient American Indian artifacts by Edgar Latcham; contemporary art like Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup Cans as well as films, theater productions and educational programs available for visitors of all ages.

Entertainment Houston: Discovery Green

Houston’s River Oaks Theater is not only one of the best theaters in town, but it’s also one of our favorite places for entertainment. They offer live performances all throughout the year as well as movies! The theater has been around since 1939 and was recently renovated with improved seating and better sight lines. The theater screens an array of films from classics like Casablanca and West Side Story to more recent blockbusters like Black Panther and Wonder Woman. If you are looking for something a little more unusual.

There are other features that might pique your interest such as the chance to see a film outside under the stars or watch a movie from your car on their drive-in screen! An outdoor cinema experience is always so much fun whether you’re watching La Land or The Lion King while eating dinner by candlelight or visiting their other attractions during opening hours such as their bar area with a full bar and food service. It really doesn’t matter what time of day you visit because they have something going on every single hour that will keep you entertained!

Entertainment Houston: The Galleria

There are plenty of activities in the Galleria area, but these are some of the most popular with locals. The Galleria mall is one of the largest in the US and includes tons of shops and restaurants as well as a movie theater. Rice Village is home to many upscale shopping spots, such as Neiman Marcus, Tiffany’s, and Louis Vuitton. Houston’s Chinatown is a great place for authentic Chinese food. It also has an oriental medicine shop that sells herbs used in traditional Eastern remedies.

One thing visitors might not know about Houston is that there’s a thriving art scene on display at more than 20 museums around town, including the Museum of Fine Arts, which houses one of the world’s finest collections of Impressionist paintings; the Menil Collection, with artwork by Marcel Duchamp, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein and others; and Rothko Chapel where minimalist artist Mark Rothko created his awe-inspiring stained glass masterpieces.

Bayou Place

Houston’s Bayou Place is a mall that has everything you could need, including over 160 shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues. It’s a great place to spend the day with your friends or family. They have five different entertainment options. The first is the movie theater where they show new releases as well as some classics. The second option is bowling which I enjoy because it’s like a giant game of pool but with 10 pins instead of nine. You can also play billiards and ping pong if you’re feeling more competitive than just going for an easy strike. Finally, there are three amusement park rides: bumper cars, go karts, and a roller coaster. Entertainment houston is the perfect spot for spending time with friends and family.

In addition to shopping and dining at bayou place, there are plenty of entertainment options such as concerts, sporting events, comedy shows, arts festivals-the list goes on. One event in particular is celebrating its 30th year in 2017! RodeoHouston takes place in March at NRG Park and features world-class rodeo competition plus all kinds of livestock exhibits (moo!). There will be performances by music legends George Jones Jr., LeAnn Rimes , Luke Bryan , Willie Nelson, plus many other stars from around the globe.

Minute Maid Park

One of the best things to do in Houston is visit Minute Maid Park, home of the Astros. You can catch a game at one of their many events that are scheduled throughout the year. Kids and adults alike enjoy visiting this stadium because it has something for everyone. Plus, if you plan ahead, you can take advantage of any ticket deals that are being offered at the time. If you’re looking for an outdoor venue, be sure to check out Discovery Green. It’s full of activities like festivals and concerts all summer long.

The final thing I want to mention about entertainment houston is how much fun it would be to visit the Children’s Museum of Houston on Saturday mornings from 10am-noon. They offer various classes that range from science experiments to cooking lessons, so there’s definitely something here for all kids.

Final Thoughts

There is a lot of entertainment in Houston, and you don’t have to go far. There are many bars, clubs and lounges that offer live music on a nightly basis. If the weather permits, head over to the Avenida de las Americas area with your friends and family for some outdoor entertainment. You can also enjoy some local bands at Market Square Park. The Bayou City offers something for everyone when it comes to entertainment.

From stand up comedy to theater productions, there’s plenty to do. The Theater District is home to several venues including the Hobby Center and Alley Theatre where musicals such as Wicked were performed as well as A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. Other notable venues include Miller Outdoor Theatre, Jones Hall and Wortham Theater Center.
