The new Triumph Scrambler 1200 2022 has been completely updated to comply with the EURO5 environmental regulations! With the upcoming EURO5 regulations, TRIUMPH has revised the Scrambler 1200 XC for street riding, the Scrambler 1200 XE for off-road styling and a limited Steve McQueen edition. The 2022 Scrambler 1200 has a vintage off-road flavour with a touch of Britishness as interpreted by TRIUMPH.

The 2022 TRIUMPH Scrambler is powered by the same engine, a large displacement 1200c.c. parallel twin-cylinder engine with a maximum torque of 110Nm@4,500rpm (550rpm later than the old model) and a maximum power of 90ps@7,250rpm (150rpm earlier than the old model), which passes the stringent EURO5 standards. No compromises have been made in the power department, so enthusiasts don’t have to worry if they’re going to “lose a lot of torque” again! To comply with environmental regulations, the catalytic converter has been moved back and the design of the side shell has been modified. In addition, the Triumph’s intake and combustion strokes have been redesigned to achieve a relatively low fuel consumption while maintaining the same power.

The intake and combustion efficiency have been fine-tuned to meet the stringent Euro 5 environmental standards with the same power performance.

Scrambler 1200 XC
With this revision, the iconic 21″ tyres, wide handlebars and two side exhausts remain, and the engine is no less powerful. With the exception of a slightly heavier 13 pounds (5.9 kg) due to the adjustment of the catalytic converter and combustion system, the rest of the bike is largely the same as its predecessor, with 45 mm forks, Öhlins twin-gun rear shocks with 7.9 inches of travel, Brembo 320 mm twin disc brakes, a TFT full-colour LCD meter with three modes of adjustment, Keyless start as standard across the range, torque assist clutch, LED lights, and a keyless start. The 2022 Scrambler 1200 XC will be available in cobalt blue, matte khaki green and jewel black, and is expected to cost the same as its predecessor from US$14,000 (approximately NTD 398,000).

Scrambler 1200 XE
The Scrambler 1200 XE has the same engine configuration as the Scrambler 1200 XC, with the exception of a slight increase in weight, but the power remains the same. As a more off-road oriented twin, the Scrambler 1200 XE continues the higher accessory level of its predecessor, with optimised cornering ABS, TCS and an auto-adjustment function, which is monitored in real time by the IMU and maintains optimal riding conditions. With a front Showa USD 47mm fully adjustable fork on the suspension and an Öhlins twin-shot rear shock offering 10″ of travel, the Scrambler 1200 XE is distinguishable from the XC version by its bow guard, gold fork and taller aluminium rear swingarm. 2022 The Scrambler 1200 XE will be available in June 2021 in the same colours as the XC. Available in the same colours as the XC: blue with black stripes, green with black stripes or black, starting at $15,400 (approx. NTD 438,000) as last year.

The gold fork is the most recognisable difference between the Scrambler 1200 XE and the XC version.

Apart from the slightly heavier weight, the price and performance figures remain the same.

The limited edition Steve McQueen version, inspired by the 1963 TRIUMPH TR6 race car from the World War II era, was developed in collaboration with the Steve McQueen brand and is limited to 1,000 units. The Steve McQueen tank logo, aluminium fuel filler cap, aluminium front wings, thundersculpted radiator guards and stainless steel engine guards are just a few of the extravagant features that have been added to the car to give the owner better detail and pay tribute to the legend through modern craftsmanship. Like the other limited edition models, the Steve McQueen version comes with a certificate signed by Steve McQueen’s son Chad McQueen and the TRIUMPH CEO. The Steve McQueen version is priced at US$16,400 (approx. NTD 467,000) and is relatively affordable compared to the Bond version of the James Bond movie (approx. NTD 527,000), so enthusiasts who appreciate craftsmanship and classicism can order the car when it goes on sale!

The design is inspired by the 1963 TRIUMPH TR6 racing car from the Second World War.
